Grids

You can personalize your view in the All Cases and Assignments grids. You can adjust column widths, add or remove columns, sort, rearrange the columns, and more.

Group by Column

In the All Cases or Assignments grids, you can group information by dragging one or more column headings to the area preceding the grid. The information is grouped by the first column heading dragged to the top area of the module and then by subsequent column headings added to the grouping area.

Change Column Widths

To change the width of columns, select a column heading and drag it to the right or left to make it wider or narrower. The system automatically preserves the new column width. It will persist the next time that you sign in, even if you remove the column. To return the column to its default width, click Reset to Default.

Add or Remove Columns

You can add or remove columns in the grid to further customize your view.

  1. In the desired grid, select Show Column Chooser.

  2. In the list of available columns, select a column name and drag it into the grid.

  3. Once you have made all your selections, select Hide Column Chooser. Changes are automatically saved.

Rearrange Columns

To rearrange columns in the grid, drag the column headings to the new location.

Sort Column Lists

To sort the list in a column, select the column heading. When you change the sort order, a triangle icon in the heading indicates whether the column's record order has been changed from low to high or from high to low. To reverse the order, click the column heading again.

Change the Number of Rows

To change the number of rows in a grid, select a different number from Rows per page.

Download Grid Information

  1. From the Home, Cases, or Assignments tab or the Search tab results, select a Download to option. The file formats include the following:
  • Adobe Acrobat Document (*.pdf)
  • Comma Separated Values Files (*.csv)
  • Excel Worksheet (*.xls)
  • Rich Text Format (*.rtf)
  1. Select GO.
  2. When the File Download window opens, select Open or Save.

Note: The export will only include the first 200 records. Consider adjusting filters if you wish to have a smaller data set.

Filter Cases and Tasks

If you select a column heading or group to filter records, the heading changes to dark gray and its filter icon changes to orange. To filter the information in the Grid by one or more column headings, use any of the following methods.

To filter cases by Do this
Partial or exact matches

Type the information in the filter box following the appropriate column heading. For example, to filter the Primary Issue column for any cases related to theft, type T or theft in the Primary Issue box.

Note: Filter fields are not case sensitive. For example, typing theft, Theft, or THEFT will return the same results.

If more than one word matches what you type, they will all appear in the grid. For example, if you type con in the Primary Issue box, the system will show any cases related to Concern or Conflict of Interest.

Available options for a column

Select the filter arrow next to the column heading, and then select an option.

For example, to filter the Status column for cases that are in process, select the Status filter arrow and select In Process. To reset that column to view all available cases, select (All).

Wildcard options (begins with, contains, equals, does not equal, etc.)

Select the filter icon next to the column heading box, select a wildcard option, and then type the information you want to include or exclude in the column heading box.

For example, to filter cases opened on or after 12/15/2020, click the Date Opened filter icon, select Is greater than or equal to, and type 12/15/2020 in the filter box.

Reset to Default

The system automatically saves any changes you make to a grid. The next time you sign in, the system will only list the cases that meet the criteria you previously set with groups, filters, or sort orders. To return all columns and rows to their original layout and have the system show all records in their original order, select Reset to Default.
