Managing Case Attachments
The Attachments section of a case allows you to add files to a case or you can add a link containing a URL to a case. The files you add to this section cannot be viewed by reporters. Anyone working on the case can click the name of the attachment to retrieve the file or open the link. The name, category, upload date, and description of the attached file appear in the case.
Note: Reporters cannot view the files added to the attachment section.
View a case attachment
The Attachment section also allows you to view attachments added by a reporter. Supported file types can be viewed in the browser before downloading.
- From the navigation menu, select Cases > All Cases.
- Select the desired case.
- From the case menu, select Attachments, and then click the file name.
- When you click the file name, a new browser tab opens showing the attachment, or if the file type is not supported, the file saves to your Downloads folder.
Note: All attachments are scanned for viruses.

Attach a file or a link to a case
- From the navigation menu, select Cases > All Cases.
- Select the desired case.
- From the case menu, select Attachments, and then do one of the following:
- Select Add Attachments, select a category from the list to help describe the file (for example, interview notes, surveillance video, receipt scans, etc.). The list of categories may be set to the types of attachments your organization handles, and then click Select files to find the file you want to import or click and drag the file to the Drag files here to attach them box.
Note: Encrypted files cannot be imported.
- Select Add Link, type a title for the link and the Web address (URL) for the Web page, select a category, and type a description.
- Select Add Attachments, select a category from the list to help describe the file (for example, interview notes, surveillance video, receipt scans, etc.). The list of categories may be set to the types of attachments your organization handles, and then click Select files to find the file you want to import or click and drag the file to the Drag files here to attach them box.
- Click Submit.
Edit an attachment
- From the navigation menu, select Cases > All Cases.
- Select the desired case.
- From the case menu, click Attachments.
- Next to the file or link name, click Edit.
- Edit the description or category.
- Click Submit.
Delete an attachment
- From the navigation menu, select Cases > All Cases.
- Select the desired case.
- From the case, click Attachments.
- Next to the file or link name, click Edit.
- Select Check this box to delete this attachment.
- Click Submit.
