Important: If your organization participates in the Platform, new user profiles must be created in the Platform in order for users to sign in to the system.

Administrator Roles

There are two types of administrators available; system administrator and tier administrator. Administrators have a single level of administrative access. If you need an administrator added, modified, or removed, please contact your Account Specialist.

Only users designated as administrators can perform administrative tasks. Regular users cannot access administrative functions or pages.

System Administrators

System administrators are responsible for the following functions:

  • Managing custom fields
  • Managing case templates
  • Adding tier-specific custom values to dropdowns
  • Managing all users and user templates
  • Adding access levels for use in all tiers
  • Adding tier administrators
  • Managing notifications

System administrators can also perform tier administrator functions, which allows a system administrator to fulfill the duties in the absence of a tier administrator. If your organization chooses to restrict the system administrator from viewing and working with cases, the system administrator will only be able to perform system administrator functions.

Tier Administrators

Tier administrators are responsible for the following functions:

  • Adding drop-down settings to the tiers they administer
  • Adding existing users to their tiers
  • Assigning access levels to users in their tiers
  • Adding access levels to the tiers they administer

In addition, tier administrators can access and work with cases, and can manage Notifications for their own tiers. Users can be both a system administrator and a tier administrator (or a regular user) in this scenario. However, they need a separate user name with a unique password for each role.
